Concept of the Technical Development Academy
The Technical Development Academy is a new concept within amateur football, dedicated to long term player development. Emphasis is placed on developing technical skills and position specific techniques, in order to bridge the gap from grassroots football into development centres and professional academies.
This emphasis on technique is a culture many youngsters are taught from an early age in countries such as Brazil, Spain, Holland, and Italy. At the TDA we want to give every young player the chance to experience this method of coaching, and a chance to develop their technical ability in order to achieve their potential within the game.
METHODOLOGY
At the TDA we believe in developing talent and ability through technical sessions delivered by passionate and experienced coaches. Our technical and position specific syllabus are designed to ensure each player develops their technical skills and understands the fundamental attributes needed to play their position. These technical sessions are currently being used by professional academies worldwide.
Each player will be exposed, and be in contact with a football for the majority of each session. This is delivered through our ball manipulation/mastery skills and development warm ups in order to obtain our syllabus guideline of the 400 touch rule per session. Our curriculum aims to develop the outfield players in the following aspects of the game:
- Receiving skills
- Distribution skills
- Retaining skills
- Regaining skills

GROUP SESSIONS
Our group sessions are designed to challenge every players technical and tactical understanding of the game. The groups are split by age and ability to ensure every player is challenged at the appropriate level for them!
POSITION SPECIFIC COACHING
We offer a unique opportunity to recieve bespoke position specific coaching. No matter what position, and following a consultation, we will tailor a session based on your needs. This will be followed up by a live match viewing with video and performance analysis!
IN DEPTH PLAYER DEVELOPMENT REVIEWS
All of our players recieve an in depth half season and end of season review. Based on the FAs Four Corner model your in depth assesment will include elements across the following areas:
Technical
Tactical
Physiological
Psychological
1:1 COACHING
We offer 1:1 and small group coaching for those that want extra work and time with their coach. No matter if thats technical, tactical, physical or an all round blended approach, we can design a 1:1 programme dependant on your needs!
VIDEO & PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
As a qualified Performance & opposition analyst we will offer every player the chance to review training and match footage so they can learn and understand how to improve. Video learning is a powerful tool and one we feel our players should experience!

Our coaches have over 15 years of coaching experience from Grassroots teams to Elite and National Teams. So you can be sure your player will be in the right environment, receiveing the best possible coaching!
FA COACH DEVELOPER
Our Head Coach is an FA Coach Developer responsible for delivering FA Coaching Courses around the country to help aspiring coaches on their coaching journey!
GRASSROOTS COACH
Our coaches understand the important role grassroots football plays in your childs development. As a current grassroots coach this element of fun, enjoyment, and playing with friends should not be underestimated!

LEEDS UTD ACADEMY SCOUT
Our Head Coach is an Academy Scout for Leeds Utd. Responsible for Talent identification across the U7-U14 age catergory in the Leeds area.
LEEDS UTD PRE ACADEMY AND BREAKTHROUGH DEVELOPMENT GROUP COACH
As an Academy Coach for Leeds Utd, working across a number of age groups at the Development Centre, our Head Coach is able to provide detailed sessions based on current professional academy delivery model. This is the entry stage for those wishing to progress to the Academy and will play a key role in developing players at our Academy!
PERFORMANCE ANALYST & OPPOSITION ANALYST
As a professional scout and opposition analyst we regulary undertake assignments across the Football League and National league ranging from video and in person opposition analysis, to individual scouting on potential targets or to monitor loan players.
